BASICS AND GETTING STARTED

How does this work?

Get in touch with us by filling out the contact form or emailing us at info@photorestoration.co.za and briefly tell us what service you need. Describe the restoration you need like "I have a photo that is missing part of the body".

We will then ask you to email us a high-resolution scan of your photo. Alternatively, if you cannot scan your photo, you can take a picture of the photo with your cellphone and email that to us for the initial assessment.

We will then review the photo and based on how much work is needed, we will quote you on the price. Quotes are provided free of charge. If you are satisfied, we will go ahead and start the restoration process. If for some reason you cannot send us a digital scan, you can post the physical photo to us via the Post Office or through the courier of your choice for us to begin working on the restoration of your photo.

Once you review and approve your quote we will provide you with an invoice with payment information. You can pay directly into our bank account via EFT or cash deposit.


How long will it take to restore my photo?

It usually takes around 5 working days.


SHIPPING

How will I receive my restored photo?

We will email you a digital copy of your restored photo. If you like, we can also send physical copies of your photo printed on high-gloss photo paper. We also have a variety of gifting options available such a canvas prints!


Is it safe to mail my photos?

If it is your only copy of the photo and you absolutely cannot risk it getting lost, we recommend sending us a scan of your photo instead. The risk is pretty low if you send it via a courier service. Please note however that we are not liable for the loss of your photo en-route to us if you are sending a physical copy.


How long does shipping take?

Once our restoration process is complete, it usually takes between 1-3 days via courier service. We will also send you the digital copy as soon as we are finished!


RESTORATION

My picture is in a really bad state and has a lot of torn areas and areas missing from the photo. Will you be able to restore it?

Most likely! The chances of a successful restoration are higher if you tell us more about the photo, such as the location of the shot and what you think might be missing from the photo. If portions of the person's face is missing, you can send us additonal pictures of the person so we can use that to help reconstruct their face.


I have a LOT of pictures I would like restored, do you offer a discount? Can I send you an entire photo album?

Yes we do! We offer discounts if you need more than 5 photos that need restoration. Sure, you can send us an entire photo album.


Why are my scanned photo files so large after scanning?

The higher the resolution a photo is scanned, the larger the file size will be. Higher resolutions = better quality, which increases the chance of a successful restoration.


Where can I scan my photo?

If you do not own a scanner or know anyone who has one, you can use your nearest print-shop to scan your photos. POSTNET also provide scanning services.


DVDs & Prints

Can I get my restored photo on a CD or DVD?

Yes, we can save your restored photo on a CD or DVD and mail it to you.


Can you print my restored photos for me?

Yes, we can make high-quality digital prints of your restored photos in the following sizes:


4x6 print R 16.00

5x7 print R 30.00

8x10 print R 40.00
